Bony Blithe Light Mystery Award 2012
Inaugural award to be presented at Bloody Words in 2012, and annually thereafter
The Bloody Words Light Mystery Award is an annual juried literary prize, presented at the Bloody Words Mystery Conference for a “book that makes us smile.” The book can be a print or an e-book, submitted by the publisher or the author, published in the previous year. The 2012 award is open to books published between January 1 and December 31, 2011. Self-published books are included. All novels must be a minimum of 60,000 words. The author must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. No YA or noir.

The prize:
A cheque for $1000 plus a suitably awesome award, featuring the Bloody Words logo and a grinning skeleton enjoying the winning novel.
Criterion:
"Light mysteries" include everything from laugh-out-loud, to gentle humour, to good old fashioned stories with little violence or gore.
Submissions:
The submission deadline was December 15, 2011. Thanks for sending your books for consideration by the award jury.
Award Presentation:
The award will be announced at the Bloody Words XII Banquet, Hilton Hotel, Toronto on June 2, 2012. You can pay online here:

Note: If you have registered for the Bloody Words conference, your registration fee includes the Saturday night banquet. This $95 rate is for the Saturday night banquet only, not the entire conference.
